U.S. House Passes Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act (HR 11) and Paycheck Fairness Act (HR 12)
January 16th, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedOn Friday, January 9, the U.S. House of Represntatives passed both the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act (H.R. 11) and the Paycheck Fairness Act (H.R. 12). These are the first pieces of legislation aimed at rewarding organized labor for their help in the 2008 elections. I’ve waited a week to put up this blog-note just to see what came out in the media, but you know what? No one has said a thing that I’ve seen. I’m pushed for time right now, but I’ll be back and add to this blog a little later. In the meantime, if you want to find out about these pieces of legislation, here’s link with some good information:
It is from the Associated Builders & Contractors website. There is some good info on the site describing the bills and what they allow: http://www.abc.org/Newsroom2/News_Letters/2009_Archives/Issue_2/House_Approves_Two_Bills_That_Will_Trigger_Frivolous_Lawsuits_.aspx
